The fight must never stop for this cruelty
to END!
Since 1998, IWCT (now under the name
of AKF in the Philippines) has employed
six local people fulltime to investigate and prepare
charges against those involved in this illegal activity.
Once the evidence has been gathered, it is reported
to the police and a complaint by us is then filed.
This results in members of our crew accompanying the
police in raiding the illegal premises where the crime
is being committed. The police arrest the offenders
and charge them with violating the animal welfare
act and the confiscated dogs are passed over into
our care.
We subsequently have to take the dogs into the local
City Pound, but, sadly, due to a lack of facilities,
unless the dogs are re-homed (hardly any ever are),
7-10 days later they are put down.
With this heartbreaking reality, IWCT/AKF
dreamt and made it a reality to build a permanent
rescue centre for the dogs (on a leased property).
A full and determined adoption program is working
very well and where healthy dogs are not adopted,
they are not being put down, but are living their
natural life span in the most wonderful way they can
ever experience.
Costs are very high and are forever mounting, but
this work must go on, that is why we are asking you
today to help us with your generous donation, or contact
us for further information. The horror pictures on
this website speak for themselves and the wonderful
pictures, where we have fed and given water to the
dogs, tells you how far we have come in this fight.
Together YOU and IWCT/AKF,
as long as we have the means, can and will make a
difference.
Having witnessed many times the dreadful cruelty that
the dogs are forced to endure at the hands of these
evil dog traders, I believe the rescued dogs deserve,
at very least, a second chance at life.
